UNDP Anti-Corruption for Development Programme
Country Support
Country Projects
Through its Global Anti-Corruption Programme, UNDP provides policy and programmatic support to anti-corruption initiatives across regional hubs and country offices. Working closely with key global and national partners, UNDP promotes integrity, transparency, and accountability across multiple sectors, directly contributing to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. With one of the largest Global Policy Networks (GPN) operating in over 170 countries, UNDP integrates anti-corruption efforts into governance and development initiatives worldwide. This page highlights key initiatives and results from UNDP’s ongoing work to advance integrity and combat corruption at all levels.
Sri Lanka
With UNDP support, Sri Lanka’s National Procurement Commission launched the e-PMS, a centralized digital platform that replaces paper-based reporting with real-time dashboards, automated compliance checks, and public disclosure modules. The system is expected to reduce institutional reporting time by up to 40% and strengthen citizen trust in how public funds are spent.
Namibia
Funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP Namibia, this project supports the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Office of the Prime Minister in advancing the National Anti-Corruption Strategy & Action Plan. It strengthens investigative capacity, advances whistleblower protection through a digital anonymous reporting platform, and fosters collaboration across government, civil society, and the private sector.
Mexico
UNDP Mexico partners with the Executive Secretariat of the National Anticorruption System (SESNA) to harness data and digital innovation against corruption, supporting the expansion of the Plataforma Digital Nacional, which now holds 9.9 million records from 2,904 public institutions. The collaboration also drives citizen engagement through the Datatón Anticorrupción and develops AI-powered tools such as the Anti-corruption Algorithm for Social Programmes.
Iraq
Backed by €4.5 million in EU funding, the second phase of the Anti-Corruption and Accountability Initiative (ACAI) connects Iraq’s anti-corruption agenda with environmental and climate governance. It establishes the country’s first National Environmental Integrity System, free legal aid clinics for affected communities, and digital whistleblowing tools, placing Iraq among the first in the region to link integrity enforcement with climate justice.
Kosovo
Through the Swiss-funded Support to Anti-Corruption Project (SAEK II) project, UNDP Kosovo carries out corruption risk assessments, studies, and policy papers to help authorities address corruption bottlenecks across sectors. A particular focus is the disproportionate impact of corruption on vulnerable groups, with recommendations to strengthen their participation in decision-making.
